At face value, this is straddling a fine line between perfection and pretension. 2 songs, 36-ish minutes and what appears to be a missing Styx cover from the 70's. But then you hear the music and it all makes sense. The first track brings everything you need to know about what makes this worth the time investment - epic melodicism that matches its grand scope. But "Nightbridge" is something else, just a monster song with a perfect build & release. Great stuff (and I'm a Styx fan, by the way...) bcb723
Very good stuff. Russian circles is a band that creates interesting music, a true musical trip. A lot of ambiances. All their albums are great. My favourites are "enter", "blood year", "empros" and "station". On this one Milano and quartered are fucking heavy. And it's what I need to hear! johanmasson
If you're going to go out in apocalyptic style you might want to have the 40 minute title track playing loud at your side. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 12, 2013

Someone described the previous LP as a wonderful sign of things to come (not worded that way). I agree. Take that thought and add it to Telle Isla's review above. Yeah, this is just a bump. Pretty weak I know. Sorry. <shoulder shrug ASCII guy> wedcarter
